African migrants are not respected or treated as human beings here in South Africa. It is evident in the names locals use to call us, like “ama-zayizayi”. Even criminals are more likely to pounce on us than locals because many of us do not have families here, no-one to help or fight for us, even the law enforcers do not take us seriously.
